Request a crawl space visit
If there's water standing under the house or a floor feels unsafe, call. For a smell, a pending sale or general planning, send a request and a local company will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- The property address, so your request reaches a company that covers it
- What you've noticed: a smell, water under the house, sagging floors, wet insulation
- Whether a CL-100 or home inspection flagged moisture or wood damage
- Your closing date or move date if you're buying, selling or relocating
- Where the crawl space access is and whether it opens easily
Crawl space flooded after heavy rain? Stay out while there's water near wiring, a furnace or a water heater. If you can safely reach the breaker, shut off power to equipment under the house and wait for a professional.
